Reasons for Inadequate Corporate Taxation • Multinational companies change tax residence to a foreign country through its subsidiaries • Others merge with or purchase a foreign company and make it the parent company (“inversion”), then legally move patent ownerships and trademarks to the new parent company • E.g., Apple, Microsoft, multiple pharmaceutical companies
