In FY17, the U.S. administration invoked the Kemp-Kasten amendment to withhold funding – both core and non-core contributions – to UNFPA; in the prior year (FY16), U.S. contributions to UNFPA had totaled $69 million, including $30.7 million in core resources and an additional $38.3 million in non-core resources for other project activities.
