Changes Coming to Canada • Saskatchewan has become the world’s leading producer in canaryseed, a crop that originated from the Canary Islands. • Currently, canaryseed is sold as pet food, with a Canadian export market of over $134 million in 2008. Saskatchewan accounts for 90% of Canadian production.
