    Regulation (EC) No. 178/2002 Article 14, food safety requirements Food must not be placed on the market if it is unsafe. Unsafe food is considered to be injurious to health or unfit for human consumption. Article 16, misleading of consumers General provision in respect of presentation of food, which should not mislead consumers. Article 17, general responsibilities Food business operators must ensure that foods satisfy food law and check that all legal requirements are met. Article 18, traceability of food, feed and food-producing animals The traceability of food, feed and food-producing animals shall be established at all stages of production, processing and distribution.
