  1. Green Move

  2. Green Move • Shifting from one place to another can cause a lot of pollution if you do not take care. There are many things that can cause environmental pollution. Two major pollutants are dust and trash. Pollution can occur through careless disposal of packing material, trash from your house while moving, pollution by vehicles that transport your goods etc. Protect nature by taking certain precautions that destroy our natural surroundings.

  3. Green Move • What is the solution to such pollution? You can do this what might be called a "Green move". Here are 7 simple ways by which you can avoid or reduce such pollution.

  4. Meticulous Packing You may be tempted to pack in every little item from your house for transportation. Pause and think objectively which are the useful items that have to be moved. For example, you would not seriously want to transport a pair of old shoes, moth eaten files/clothes, or molded leather items that have been lying in your attic or garage for months or years! They will not only add to the weight of your luggage but also add to the pollution. This leads us to the next point - to make a careful list of your items.

  5. You can categorize all your stuff into three major categories like the items that you use regularly, items that have been rarely used, and those that are never used. Most people have sentimental attachment to the items that they keep. Sometimes this can lead to unconsciously keeping items that don't have any use for you anymore. Meticulous listing

  6. Meticulous Use of Packing Material Packing material can be another source of pollution if not chosen with care. Wrapping your items with material like newspaper, used cloth or cotton, can lead to pollution. This material will get soaked in wet climate and cause mound. They will destroy your valuables. Use recyclable material.

  7. Meticulous use of Packing Things on hand Do not go on a shopping spree looking for packing material. You may be having packing material right in front of you in your stuff! For example, you could be wasting a lot of your time and money running around for packing material for your glassware. You could carefully wrap your glass items with some of your unused bed sheets, towels or table covers etc.

  8. Meticulous Mode of Transport Vehicles are another major cause of pollution. Motor vehicle engines emit nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, sulphur dioxide and lead. These are toxic for both human beings as well as other living beings. Do not opt for old rickety vehicles that let off pollutants that are listed above though they may be cheap.

  9. Meticulous Planning in Shutting Down your House Packing and moving may not always happen in one day. If it takes more than one day, you need to carefully plan shutting down of your old house from where you are moving. You should make sure that your kitchen is the last one to be emptied and shut down. The reason behind this is simple.

  10. Meticulous Cleaning of Your Home Do not use chemicals that may smell good but are harmful for your health and pollute the environment. Some detergents may contain chemicals that not only pollute the air but also your food and water. Avoid them and use gentle detergents that are Eco-Friendly.
