NFC Forum • The NFC Forum was created by Trio Philips/NXP, Nokia, and Sony in March 2004. • The Forum has nearly 120 members. • Manufacturers, applications developers, financial services institutions, and more all work together to promote the use of NFC technology in consumer electronics, mobile devices, and PCs.

  5. How it Works • NFC is an easy to use wireless communication interface that works in terms of Centimeters. • The NFC chip is embedded into a cell phone or other electronic device (digital camera, camcorder, etc.)

  6. How it Works • You place your mobile communications device a few centimeters from the desired transmitter. • NFC will allow for easier cell to cell transmissions by placing cell phones a short distance from each other.

  7. 13,56MHz RF Link NFC Technical Aspects • NFC works within a typical distance of 10 cm. • Based on RFID technology that works at 13.56 MHz • NFC runs a typical speed of 424 kilobits/sec.
