RPSLng status • Draft now version-8 • draft-blunk-rpslng-08.txt • IPv6 & multicast routing now supported by IRR • Code now deployed • Oct 2004 First implementation: Larry Blunk, Merit • Dec 2004 Deployed in RIPE whois • APNIC deployment covered by IPv6 routing registry deployment project, outcomes due 2Q2005.

Future directions • CRISP is query-only • Whois provides data management as well as query • Consideration of EPP, MyAPNIC-bulk-tools • Convergence will require planning, through 2006 • Dual-service for some time • Whois charter obligation • Deployment of clients, conversion of whois centric processes • Goal: single client, all CRISP registries • DB-SIG input vital for planning future direction • Present roadmap at APNIC20
