  2. More than 1.89 lakh trees have been felled for the development of the Bundelkhand interstate, as per a RTI reaction. The trees were cut in Banda, Chitrakoot, Mahoba, Hamirpur, Jalaun, Aurraiya and Etawah, it said. The 296-km long four-path street will interface Etawah to Chitrakoot and Uttar Pradesh locale to the National Capital Region through the Yamuna freeway. In an answer to an inquiry by Banda-based dissident Kuldeep Shukla, ranking director of the state Forest Department, Atul Asthana, said that the UP Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) has cut 1,89,036 trees for the undertaking. The UPEIDA has intended to plant over 2.70 lakh saplings along the turnpike, the RTI added. continue reading….
