  1. What to do, when you don’t know what to doActs 1:6-14

  2. Seek the Lord. • Deu. 4:27-30 And the LORD shall scatter you among the nations, and ye shall be left few in number among the heathen, whither the LORD shall lead you. 28) And there ye shall serve gods, the work of men’s hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell. 29) But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul. 30) When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the LORD thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice; • Deu. 4:31 (For the LORD thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.

  3. 1Ch 16:10-13 Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD. 11) Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually. 12) Remember his marvellous works that he hath done, his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth; 13) O ye seed of Israel his servant, ye children of Jacob, his chosen ones.

  4. 1Ch 22:17-19 David also commanded all the princes of Israel to help Solomon his son, saying, 18) Is not the LORD your God with you? and hath he not given you rest on every side? for he hath given the inhabitants of the land into mine hand; and the land is subdued before the LORD, and before his people. 19) Now set your heart and your soul to seek the LORD your God; arise therefore, and build ye the sanctuary of the LORD God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the name of the LORD.

  5. 1Ch 28:8-9 Now therefore in the sight of all Israel the congregation of the LORD, and in the audience of our God, keep and seek for all the commandments of the LORD your God: that ye may possess this good land, and leave it for an inheritance for your children after you for ever. 9) And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.

  6. Psa14:2 The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.

  7. Seek the Lord. • Those that seek are promised to find. • Those that seek are intense in their purpose. • Those that seek reject all other options.

  8. Seek to Obey. • Exo 5:2 And Pharaoh said, Who is the LORD, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I know not the LORD, neither will I let Israel go.

  9. 1Sa 15:22-23 And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. 23) For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.

  10. 2Th 1:8-10 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: 9) Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; 10) When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.

  11. Seek to Obey. • Obedience is a decision not a feeling. • Obedience is more valuable than disorderly gain. • Obedience shows submission to higher authority.

  12. Seek to Trust.

  13. 2Sa 22:29-42 For thou art my lamp, O LORD: and the LORD will lighten my darkness. 30) For by thee I have run through a troop: by my God have I leaped over a wall. 31) As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him. 32) For who is God, save the LORD? and who is a rock, save our God? 33) God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect. 34) He maketh my feet like hinds’; feet: and setteth me upon my high places. 35) He teacheth my hands to war; so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms. 36) Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy gentleness hath made me great. 37) Thou hast enlarged my steps under me; so that my feet did not slip. 38) I have pursued mine enemies, and destroyed them; and turned not again until I had consumed them. 39) And I have consumed them, and wounded them, that they could not arise: yea, they are fallen under my feet. 40) For thou hast girded me with strength to battle: them that rose up against me hast thou subdued under me. 41) Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies, that I might destroy them that hate me. 42) They looked, but there was none to save; even unto the LORD, but

  14. Ps. 4:3-5 But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him. 4) Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah. 5) Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD. • Pro 28:25 He that is of a proud heart stirreth up strife: but he that puttethhis trust in the LORD shall be made fat.

  15. Seek to Trust. • Trust requires humility. • Trust requires vulnerability. • Trust requires hope.

  16. Seek Godly Fellowship. • Act 2:42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’; doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. • 1Jn 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

  17. Gal 2:9 And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go unto the heathen, and they unto the circumcision. • 1Co 10:20 But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils.

  18. Seek Godly Fellowship. • Fellowship with godly people. • Fellowship with godly situations. • Fellowship with people who validate righteousness.
