  2. TRIMS History • Originally a Mainframe database started in 1973 • Migrated to Oracle database in 1996 • Added Digital Photolog, Reports, Query and Map front-end for client/server application • Today – TRIMS*Web development

TRIMS - TDOT’s Enterprise Roadway Information Management System • Inventory Data for 88,000+ Miles of Tennessee Roadways. • All Interstates, State Routes, and Functionally Classified Routes in TRIMS GIS. • Photolog Images are available for all Interstates and State Routes. • Photolog Views include Front and Side. Photolog Images accessible using TRIMS Queries, Reports, and GIS/Mapping. Photolog Summary Screen (Quad Screen design with Photolog View and three other user defined TRIMS screen views. Provides TDOT’s Executive Level Management the capability to simultaneously view multiple TRIMS data screens. • Ramp Photolog Views – Currently reviewing and loading. • 360-Degree images of State Route Intersections and At Grade RR Grade Crossings – Currently testing and reviewing. • Vertical Bridge Clearance data and views available for all Interstates and selected State Routes. Currently working with TDOT IT to import data into TRIMS. • TRIMS Queries available using: • Single Table (Simple Query) • Multiple Tables (Complex Query) • Dynamic Segmentation (Joining Multiple Tables) • Standard Queries (Saved User Defined Complex Queries) • Roadway Composition Query ( Standard Query displaying LRS Data, Crash Totals, Roadway • Characteristics, Traffic Data, Geometric Data, Land Use, Right of Way and Pictorial • Representation of Roadway) • Thematic Query (Digital Integration of TRIMS Tables and TRIMS GIS Maps for Displaying • Graphs and Maps) • TRIMS Data accessible from TRIMS GIS Maps using drop-down menu query. • Numerous User Defined Standard Reports for Highway Log, Traffic, Route Feature, Roadway Description, Structures, Materials and Tests, Intersections, Railroad Grade Crossings, and Crash Data.
