  2. What is heidi? • Web-based management information tool • Ability to create reports and charts from a broad range of data about HE • Subscription service, available to HEI's and approved stakeholders • heidi is run by HESA as a self-funding, not-for-profit service

  3. Background to heidi • Developed in partnership with The University of Leeds, with funding from LGM fund and funding councils • Aimed to reduce burden on HEI’s by providing access to a wide variety of HE data in one place • System went live during April 2007 • 88% of HEI's currently subscribe

Benefits • Save time and resource by accessing a wide range of HE data in one place • Benchmark the performance of your institution against others • A living system, continually being updated with latest data and regular system improvements • Easy sharing of reports within your organisation – create reports once, use many times

  5. What HESA data is included? • Student • Staff • Destination of leavers • Finance • Key Financial Indicators • HE-BCI Parts A and B • Student Staff Ratios • Performance Indicators • HEMS (higher education management statistics) … most data covering period 2001/02 to 2009/10
