Graduate School of International Studies • Master’s Degree Program provided by Graduate • School of International Studies • Ajou GSIS (Graduate School of International Studies) was established in 1996 in cooperation with Daewoo Group to educate business people and government officials of Romania. It was started with approximately 60Students from Romania • Later the GSIS was developed to educate more diverse student population from many different countries including Eastern European Countries, Asian, African and Middle Eastern Countries.

Graduate School of International Studies • Ajou Graduate School of International Studies • The purpose of the GSIS is to develop international experts with global perspective and information so that they can enhance international communication and cooperation in a rapidly changing world of politics, economy, culture, technology, and so on. • Mission • To educate the future leaders in government, business and civic organizations who can effectively meet the challenges of the globalizing world • To secure a pool of future international experts needed by the developing countries with a view to providing them with a meaningful role and encouraging their active participation in international field • To develop students' capacity and contribute to the international progress of the participating studies. • Provides Master Degree Program for International Students from more than 40 different countries around the world • Short-Term Programs for government officials and Business people are also provided

  4. Graduate School of International Studies Current Student Profile (As of April 1st, 2008) 92 Students from 50 Countries Approximately 50 % are on Government Scholarship and Approximately 50 % are on Private Fund & Ajou Scholarship

Graduate School of International Studies 50 % Students on Government Scholarship 44 Students on KOICA(Korea International Cooperation Agency) Scholarship 1 Student on NIIED Scholarship 1 Student on KF Scholarship KOICA: is an government agency to maximize effectiveness of Korea's grant aid programs for developing countries by implementing the government's grant aid and technical cooperation programs. Ajou has been educating government officials from developing countries in cooperation with KOICA since 2002 until now. NIIED: National Institute of International Education Development promotes and give grants to international students who come to study at Korean Universities KF: Korea Foundation provides scholarship with international students majoring in Korean Studies

Graduate School of International Studies Alumni Profile Approximately 300 Students from 50 Countries including countries from Asia, Africa, South America, Middle East, Eastern Europe and CIS Countries. Romania, Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria, Ukraine Russia, Chezch Republic and etc. Sudan, Algeria, Morocco, Egypt, Ghana, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania Papua New Guini, El Salvador, Chile ,Mexico, Peru, Colombia, Guatemala ,USA

Graduate School of International Studies Scholarship Status Approximately 50% Students receive Korean government scholarship such as KOICA, KF and NIIED scholarship and approximately 50% students receive Academic Scholarship by the Ajou Graduate School of International Studies according to their academic performances • Academic Scholarship by Ajou Graduate School of Int’l Studies • Scholarship A : 100 % Tuition & 100% Dorm Waiver • Scholarship B : 100% Tuition Waiver • Scholarship C: 50% Tuition Waiver • New Students Academic Scholarship: 50% Tuition Waiver
