Asociación de Mujeres Progresistas,αgorα Themajority of surveyed are currentlystudying at universityor at vocationalcolleges. • 32% werestudying at universityor at vocationalcolleges • 22% were at primaryschool (until 12 yearsold) • 20% were in 1st / 2nd year of compulsorysecondaryschool (Spanish “ESO”) (between 12 and 14 yearsold) • 10,5% were in 3rd /4th year of compulsorysecondaryschool (between 14 and 16 yearsold) • 9% werecurrentlystudyingfortheir A-levels (Spanish “Bachillerato”, between 16 and 18 yearsold) • 6,5% didnotanswer, thereforeweconsiderthatthey are notcurrentlystudying. 100% of thesurveyedhavebiologicalmothers and fathers. Themajority of surveyedcurrentlylivewiththeirparents, who are homeowners. 20% are tenants: thisgroupisconstitutedbystudentswho share anapartment and therent expenses withotherstudents. This case applies to almost all students at primary and compulsory secondary schools. 46,5% occasionally talk to their friends about their problems. 40% spend time with their friends outside the home, and 37,5% only occasionally. These percentages are understandable and normal if we take into account those students who no do live at their parents´ and the fact that we are surveying a rural area. On the other hand, 80% of the surveyed do not go to cafés, cybercafés or other leisure spaces after school. Asociación de Mujeres Progresistas,αgorα 98% reportedthatnone of theirfriendseverforcedthemintodrug abuse. 95,5% do notsmokenordrink alcohol. 69% reportedthatthemost popular people in theirgroups no dotsmokenordrink. 89% are notunhappywiththeirparents´ attitudetowardsthem. 60% do notskipschool, 30% clearlyreportthattheirparents do notknowwhethertheygotoclassornot. In ordertounderstandthesefacts, wemustkeep in mindthatschoolattendanceiscontrolled at primaryschools, compulsorysecondaryschools and highschoolsbymeans of a programmewhichallowsteacherstocommunicatewithparents. Half of thesurveyed do notfeelaffectedbyproblems at home. Sometimesthey do notknowhowtospendtheirleisure time. 45% reportthatthey do notknowhowtofacethissituation. Again, wemustrememberthattheylive in a smalltownwithfewresourcesforyoungpeople. Thisisrelativelyeasyforthoseattendingprimary and compulsorysecondaryschools, as theSpanisheducationsystemprovideswiththiskind of activities.
