What is ITiLT?ITiLT (Interactive Technologies in Language Teaching) is a European Union Transversal KA2 Languages project (Lifelong Learning Programme) which will run from January 2011 - April 2013.The ITiLT project will produce a website of learning objects to help teachers integrate IWBs in their language classrooms. This will include video clips of classroom interactions; learner, teacher and trainer feedback; lesson plans and learner/teacher resources.Website: http://www.itilt.eu

  5. IWB Preliminaries It looks like a normal board Enhance your teaching, not dominate Use the Internet Build on what others have done Don't hog the board – let the students use it

  6. IWB Hardware – things to consider Don't use normal board pens (or chalk) Turn off the projector (not the PC) Use projector features (freeze/blank) Use colour! Ensure easy access to the IWB, keyboard, and mouse

  7. Design of materials - guidelines Clear communicative purpose Learner-centred and learning-centred Motivating for learners Clearly defined learning goals Is the IWB the best way? Colour contrast/ font sizes Cognitive interactivity (drag and drop, hide and reveal) Allow space for students' contributions
