  1. B-TEC level 3 Advert design Tom Harker

  2. I first made an annotated sketch of my design before I started to make it on Photoshop, I did this so I had something to work ageist and wasn't just making it from memory or as I went along. I wanted to make my logo link in with the advert and play a part of it and not just be there in the way or tucked in the corner. With this in mind I came up with the idea of beams of light coming out of the ball the girl was catching, I thought this was very visually appealing and could represent the sun. I then saw how this naturally created three separate segments and thought it would look good to insert images into theese spaces which represented the college in a positive way. Tom Harker

  3. I first inserted my logo design from the previous task into Photoshop to give me a starting pointto work around. I chose to use Photoshop as my editing software as iv used it in the previous tasks and it is suitable for designing the graphic I wanted to create. Tom Harker

  4. I then inserted a picture background I had found on the internet using Google search images. I did this as I wanted to include a wave as I think it has a good representation of the college as its located near the sea also is very visually appealing. But this image was too dark to use as a background and the colours in my logo where not standing out. Tom Harker

  5. Due to the image of the wave being to dark to use as a background I inserted a gradient background using the ‘gradient tool’ this was good alone as the colours weren't to dark so my logo stood out well. Tom Harker
