  3. POPLA Statistics • 4143 appeals logged to end of March. • 1723 appeals have been decided. • 54.27% in favour of the motorists. • 45.73% in favour of the operators.

  4. Statistics for Administrative Processes • March – 86.7% of appeals logged within 2 working days of receipt. • March – 97.88% of appeals logged within 5 working days of receipt.

  5. Operator concerns & POPLA improvements • Not receiving decisions in a timely manner.

  6. Operator concerns & POPLA improvements • Not receiving decisions in a timely manner. • Decisions now being transmitted to both parties directly by the assessor at time it is made.

  17. New POPLA Appeal Form Only change relevant for operators is the requirement for rejection notice date along side the verification code.

Withdrawal of Appeals WHERE THE APPELLANT HAS PAID The appeal will be withdrawn if: • The operator notifies POPLA within 5 working days of notification being sent AND; • The operator confirms certain information. The appeal is withdrawn with immediate effect and the appeal will not be included in BPA list.

  19. Withdrawal of Appeals Information Required • Parking Charge Notice number • Date payment received • Party making payment • Amount of payment

  20. Withdrawal of Appeals • Whether the payment was for: • The full amount; • The reduced amount; • Another amount (if so how much). • Name and status of person providing the information.

  21. Withdrawal of Appeals WHERE APPELLANT WISHES TO WITHDRAW • Appellant either contacts POPLA or Operator to advise of their intention. • Must be in writing and unequivocal. • Can be at any stage in the appeal process. • Appeal will be included in BPA list.

Withdrawal of Appeals WHERE THE OPERATOR NO LONGER WISHES TO CONTEST THE APPEAL • Inform both POPLA and the appellant of your intention. • Confirmation required that you have cancelled the Parking Charge Notice. • Can be at any stage of the appeal process. • Appeal will be included in BPA list.

  23. Submitting electronic evidence • We can accept emails with attachments up to 20MB. • Larger images can be resized. For example 4MB image can be reduced to 400Kb. • Must ONLY be sent to operator.evidence@popla.org.uk. Any problems with submitting evidence, call us!
