    2. Vocabulary Square Root Function: A function that contains the square root of a variable. Square Root Inequality: An inequality involving square roots.

    3. Vocabulary Again Domain: set of x-values giving real answers (no negative radicands) Range: set of y-values reached by plugging in domain’s x-values X-intercept: where curve crosses x-axis (reached by setting y = 0) Y-intercept: where curve crosses y-axis (x = 0)

    4. Real Numbers and Radicands In order for a square root to be a real number, the radicand can’t be negative. So, when you’re graphing, determine when the radicand would be negative and do not include those in the domain.

    5. Graph a Square Root Function: Identify the domain. Because the radicand has to positive, write the expression inside the radicand as: Solve for x:
