  2. 2. Leader in Sodom. 3. The city was corrupt. a)   ALL the men came to check out new guys. 4. Lot offered them his virgin daughters. 5. Sons-in-law thought he was joking.

  3. a)   Angels had to drag Lot, his wife and daughters out. (1)  Lot’s wife looked back. (2)  The Lord destroy the city.B. Life of compromise cost him.

  4. 1. Perverted lifestyle reached into his family. II.     Genesis 19:30 A. Lot chose what he thought would be best. 1. Proverbs 16:8

  5. a) Abraham prospered. Lot hides in a cave.III.   Genesis 19:31-32 A. The older sister’s plan. 1. Father’s compromise destroyed this family. a)   Proverbs 14:12

  6. (1)  Her “plan” from pit of hell. 2. She thinks they will never be married. IV.  Genesis 19:33-36 A. God’s word doesn’t “hide” anything!

  7. 1. God’s word calls it SIN! a)   What do these children call Lot? b)   Is Lot’s moving into Sodom worth all this? (1)  The further the Lord the more “stupid” our lives become!

  8. V.Genesis 19:37-38 A. Moab = “from her father” Ben-Ammi = “son of my people”. 1. “My grandpa is my dad?”

  9. 2. Moabites and Ammonites become enemies of the Lord! a)   Lot’s sin goes on for generation. B. Chapter 20, Abraham and Sarah perpetrate lie.

  10. 1. They have not dealt with this sin in their lives! VI.Genesis 20:1-7 A. Sound familiar? 1. Sin not purged, resurfaces! a)   Their “default plan.”

  11. 2. The Lord warns him. a)   Fear does horrible things to faith! (1)  Remember Elijah! VII.Genesis 20:8-10 A. Abimelech asks an honest question.

  12. VIII.Conclusion A. Genesis 20:11-18 1. He put Sarah up to the lie. a)   A king could take any woman he wanted. b)   Fear altered his faith in the Lord.

  13. (1)Romans 8:15 2. Sin makes us stupid and fear destroys faith.
