NGN - End-to-end QoS • Input Documents Presented and Discussed: • PPSO presentation from ATIS on QoS (gsc11_gtsc4_24) • Presentation on NGN & ETSI TISPAN (gsc11_gtsc4_10) • Summary of Discussion and Expected Outcome: • PPSO: A more complete and detailed assessment of NGN resource management mechanisms and interworking requirements may be needed to establish actionable goals for needed standardization. • Truly interoperable E2E solutions are still far away • Steps are gradually being taken across the industry to address critical QoS-related gaps for NGNs • Although important, QoS does not merit a separate resolution per PPSO. • Resolution: • Folded into NGN (General) • GSC-12 HIS: • No substantive discussion on whether this should remain a specific HIS for GSC12 GSC: Standardization Advancing Global Communications
