  4. Purpose of WCAG 2.0 Make web content more accessible for people with • blindness and low vision • deafness and hearing loss • learning disabilities • cognitive limitations • limited movement • speech difficulties • photosensitivity

  5. Principles • Perceivable • Operable • Understandable • Robust

  6. Perceivable • Information and user interface components must be presentable to users in ways they can perceive. • It can't be invisible to all of their senses

  7. Operable • User interface components and navigation must be operable. • The interface cannot require interaction that a user cannot perform.

  8. Understandable • Information and the operation of user interface must be understandable. • The content or operation cannot be beyond their understanding

  9. Robust • Content must be robust enough that it can be interpreted reliably by a wide variety of user agents, including assistive technologies. • As technologies and user agents evolve, the content should remain accessible.

  11. Guideline Success Criteria • Success criteria under each guideline help test conformance to the guideline. • 3 levels of conformance – A (lowest), AA, and AAA (highest).
