CNIT(National Interuniversity Consortium for Telecommunications) is a no-profit organization of 40 Italian Universities with the aim at coordinating and promoting theoretical and practical research activitiesin cooperation of national and international industries and institutions, and with the aim at developing advanced training in Telecommunication and ICT areas. SWING – AIM OF THE PROJECT The aim of the Project shortlynamed SWING is to establish the basis for a South Europeanrobust radio network, based on SW architecture and utilizing innovative ionospheric soundingtechniques and real time signal processing and forecasting, to support Critical Infrastructurecommunications, both short and long range, in case of wide scale terroristicattacksable to render useless Internet links.
