  4. Common Core State Standards: 3 Key Ideas Think Deeply: Common Core emphasizes critical thinking, analyzing, evaluating, and justifying orally and in writing. Integrated Learning: Common Core emphasizes learning across academic disciplines. More time working together on real world problems. Show How They Know: Student work emphasizes proof and evidence.

  5. P.E. P.E. will be on Wednesday and Friday. Please make sure your student’s dress appropriately. This would include: 1. Comfortable shoes (tennis shoes, sneakers) 2. Shorts under dresses/skirts 3. Clothing appropriate for the weather

  6. Volunteers G1 encourages volunteers for class field trips and for helping in classroom. All volunteers are required to read the volunteer handbook, fill out a volunteer form, and submit it to the office.

  7. Holiday & Birthday Parties • Solorio participates in a national health program. • We encourage a healthy snack along with a birthday treat. • Advanced notice required due to student allergies. • Early drop-off in office is appreciated
