  2. This is a picture of the Ayrshire Dockyard Company in the 1920’s.

  3. The ships are at a very early stage of construction – just the keel plates showing. It is possibly one of five ‘BARON’ ships whose ‘Built’ date is given as 1927 or 1928 and which were all built by Ayrshire Dockyard Irvine.   5. Ship yard is transformed into Ayrshire Metal Products manufacturing plant in 1961 and prospered until the late 1990’s Ayrshire Metal Products

  6. Demolition of the last remnants of Ayrshire Metal Products in 2009. The successor to Ayrshire Dockyard Co site in 1961

  7. Ayrshire Dockyard site is almost unrecognisable as the thriving shipyard it once was. Only the plater’s shed is intact and used by the Maritime museum to store old marine engines Carrick
