  4. 1,600 lives could be saved and 22,000 injuries prevented if seat belt use was 90 percent in every state.

  5. In 2009, seat belt use averaged 88 percent nationally, compared with 69 percent in 1998.

  6. In 2007 Nationwide, seat belt use washigher than ever.

  7. Seat belt use was lower and higher among these kinds of people.

  13. Helmeted riders were 22 percent less likely to suffer cervical spine injury than riders without helmets.

  16. It should be illegal to not wear your seat belt.
