  3. Core Codes • A core code is an 11-digit number assigned to every course offered in the public education system. • Core codes are used in Cactus, PATI, UTREx, and all Student Information Systems.

  4. Understanding Core Codes 08-06-00-13-010 Astronomy Concurrent Enrollment • 08- Subject – Science • 06- Subject – Astronomy • 00- Will always be 00 unless in the Fine Arts • 13- Program specific – Concurrent Enrollment Program • 010- Specific to a course – Astronomy Concurrent Enrollment

Course Data • Concurrent Enrollment Core Code should be used for all CE courses. • Concurrent Enrollment course codes have a “13” in position 7 and 8 (06-02-00-13-070 Language Arts 12 Concurrent Enrollment). • Career and Technical Education Courses are coded 3 or higher in position 1 • 40-10-00-00-040 Intro to Graphics Communication
