  2. Background • From: Individual and unrelated forms that complete single transactions. • To: Core data about research project that gets revised, versioned, and added to throughout life-cycle.

  3. March 17th SAGE Release • New Look SAGE Suite • Usability changes for SAGE • Revised navigation and form design • SAGE Budget Phase II • Internal UW Sub-budgets • Subcontracts • Fabrication budgets • New ASTRA Global Edit Role (March MRAM) • Ability to edit all routed eGC1s for a unit (based on span of control)

New Look SAGE Suite • Easier to scan • Realigned labels • Removed visual clutter • Simplified layouts • Tabs in SAGE for Budget, eGC1 Forms, Approvals, Advances • Improved navigation and breadcrumb trails • Improved Help • Enhanced instruction text • Sample prompts within fields • Standard look across all SAGE Suite Products • Easier to learn

  5. eGC1 Tasklist Buttons/clutter removed. eGC1 number opens the application

  6. Tasklist Navigation Global Level navigation tabs, common to all SAGE areas. Action Items (Create New or Search) separate from navigation

  8. Form Navigation Breadcrumb trail for easier navigation Action bar (task level) to copy, save, delete, etc. Current page highlighted

  9. Realigned layout Labels on left, inputs on right. Easier to scan, and easier to see what still needs to be completed.

  10. Buttons and links Actions that have to be completed (e.g. lookups), are displayed as buttons. Once completed, they change to links. This aids scanning and reduces visual clutter.

  11. Improved Help Clear examples of the sort of information being requested (disappears once you start typing). Instructions clearly visible

  12. Approvals Tasklist Clicking on the eGC1 number opens the approval flow

  13. Approval Flow All Approve actions are completed from the approval flow

Feedback Sessions • Over 50 people from Campus, OSP and GCA participated in testing sessions • Feedback indicated that people found the changes: • easier to read / navigate / scan through / follow • reduced the chance of skipping or missing fields • would reduce time spent supporting others using it • Underlying content still the same – forms easier to use but still required the same information
