  2. Sherman’s March to the Sea Gen. Willam Tecumseh Sherman and his Union troops left Atlanta for Savannah.

  3. Sherman’s March to the Sea The march started on November 15, 1864 and ended on December 22, 1864.

  4. Sherman’s March to the Sea He spreaded his troops into 2 wings. On their way they destroyed and burned everything in their path. (homes, fields, buildings, railroads)

  5. Sherman’s March to the Sea Sherman did this to prove that the confederate troops are not protecting their homes.

  6. Sherman’s March to the Sea The final battle was fought at Fort McAllister. Union infantry under William B. Hazen overran and captured Fort McAllister on December 13.
