  2. How did Helen Keller grow up? • Her dad was in the Civil War. • She was born June 27,1880. • She lived in Alabama. • She had a sister and 2 brothers

  3. Who was Helen Keller? • She was a blind and deaf girl which means she could not see or hear anything.

  4. How did she become blind and deaf? • She was sick when she was little and it made her blind and deaf. • She stared at a light without blinking. • The doctor thought she might die. • Her fever had broke. • She would live. • Her eyes and ears would probably slowly heal. • She never did get better. • She would just lay there crying unless her mother was holding her.

  5. How did she help kids? • She used the money people gave her.

  6. How did she act? • She always acted crazy. • She knocked her baby sister into the floor. • She threw a spoon across the room. • She broke her teachers teeth. • She was doing sign language in her sleep.

More facts • She was not born blind and deaf • At 19 months old she contracted illness describe as an acute congestion of the stomach and the brain which could possibly have been scarlet fever or meningitis • When she was 6 her parents hired Anne Sullivan • She had several strokes in 1961 • She wrote to 8 presidents • She published 11 books
