  2. Macbeth • Summary: The Scottish king Duncan, decides that he will confer the title of the traitorous Cawdor on the heroic Macbeth. Macbeth, and another General called Banquo, happen upon the three witches • Theme: Ambition , the prophecy ,and supernatural

  3. Poison Tree • Summary: • Theme: The god of the Old Testament is a god of wrath, cunning, jealousy, and guile.

  4. Shooting an Elephant • Summary: The whole process of killing an outrageous elephant when he was in the post of a police officer in Burma. • Theme: imperialism is evil

  5. Saboteur • Summary: He was being accused of doing something that he didn’t do. • Theme: life in a cruel state makes citizens cruel

  6. Gulliver’s Travel • Summary: The boat ship wrecked. It was four different worlds. • Theme: the individual versus society and the limits of understanding.

  7. “Lord Of The Flies” • Summary: Some kids were on a plane and the plane crash. The kids were stranded on an island. They tried doing many things to keep themselves occupied. Some people found and save them. • Theme: the loss of innocence

  8. “Get Up and Bar the Door” • Summary: absurdbickering of husband and wife intruders were threatening • Theme: Be careful

  9. “Lord Randall” • Summary: He had been hunting and having dinner with his love • Theme: N0 motive is given

  10. “Helen of Troy” • Summary: Showed goddesses the water and apple • Theme: Love never fails

  11. “Satire” • Summary: Poking fun at something to influence reform • Theme:

  12. “Beowulf” • Summary: Beowulf dies by fighting the dragon with Wiglaf, being unaided by his warriors. • Theme: tensions between the heroic code and other value systems; the difference between a king and good warrior

  13. “Troy” • Summary: Love story about Achilles • Theme: Love will remain 

  14. “Plagiarism” • Using someone’s else idea for your own.

  15. “Allegory” • A story where characters represent real people
