Predicting Weather • Weather forecasting done by meteorologists who are scientist that studies weather • Collecting data using weather balloons, observers, radar, satellites that are in orbit • Interpreting data • Generally done using computers • After computers generate maps the meteorologists must use the data to make a prediction. It is not always right because the atmosphere is always changing.

  2. Looking for patterns • Our weather generally tracks west to east during the global winds • Winds blow from an area of high pressure to low pressure. • Reading weather maps. Knowing how to interpret data from maps and symbols we used in class
