  3. History • Ancient Jewelry – the Egyptians are responsible for the initial development of shiny jewelry.

  4. History • The main contribution of the 20th century to the history of jewelry has been the rise of “fashion” or costume jewelry.

  5. History • The manufacturing of jewelry requires a high degree of craftsmanship as well as feeling for the design.

  6. History • The major driving force behind the entire evolutions of the jewelry industry is trade.

  7. Wearing • Many people wear jewelry for many different reasons. Different people wear jewelry from men, women, teens, and children.

  8. Reason for need • Occasions - normal daily life - wedding - party - anniversary - birthday gift • Some of the occasions and considerations that might be suggested. • Personal (why people purchase it) - Low price - Good quality - Unique Looking - One-of-a-kind -personal symbols

  14. History of Jewelry • My earliest designs were great but when my daughter wanted jewelry for her friends it really made it a challenge to keep them new and different.

Personalization/Customization • Personalization - Wire Base – Gold or silver - Accent Wire – blue, yellow, green, or purple - Size and complexity of the links - Bead Options – material, color, shape, size, etc. - Individuals selected their own stones - Some individuals even chose the pattern for the bead work.
