  2. What is Effective Communication • Defined: Producing a strong or desired outcome through the exchange of information. • YouTube - Who's On First?

The chain of communication • Principal – Oversees the entire school program, must be in the know. • Assistant Principal(s) works with the Athletic Director. • Athletic Director – Oversees the Athletic Program, Coaches and Players. • Student/Athlete – Participants • Parents/Guardians – Email, cell, twitter, etc.

  4. Chain of communication • Community – website, newspaper, programs, announcements, etc.. • Local Media - ? • School system – Is there a supervisor, mentor or someone you can ask questions?

  5. Administrator – Athletic Director • Always copy emails to each other on items/issues related to athletics. • Just a phone call and text message away? • Weekly meetings with Principal and/or Assistant Principal • Operational Leadership Team. • Meetings before big events. • Security/Police/Chaperones. • Alerting the media and other outlets.

  7. TRUST • Hiring a Coach • 1. knowledge of the sport. • 2. Philosophy, relationship with kids/parents and community. Style, etc.. • 3. Student/Athlete Academics/Sportsmanship and fair play. • 4. Knowledge of policies and procedures – Administration of local and state rules. • 5.DOES HE/SHE LISTEN???????????
