  10. WEMBLEY – A BALANCED CALENDAR?

  11. What is Club Wembley? Club Wembley is Wembley Stadium’s premium seat programme It underpins the business plan which secured the financing of the new stadium’s construction At £50 million per annum, it is the stadium’s most important revenue stream and represents the second biggest revenue stream for The FA Group. Club Wembley comprises 160 corporate boxes and 15,300 seats (sold on a long term licence until 2018).

  14. WEMBLEY PITCH - THE TURNING POINT!!! ARSENE WENGER branded the Wembley pitch "laughable" and "a disaster" after watching Arsenal lose to Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final. The Rugby Union Players' Association in Australia has launched a health and safety investigation at Wembley. John Terry, “when are Wembley going to make up there minds , are they a concert or football venue” Ferguson said his worries over the pitch were the reason why he fielded a weakened Manchester United team, who were beaten by Everton in a penalty shoot-out on Sunday.

  15. What was wrong with the Wembley playing surface?

  16. How will this effect the Business Plan? • More dark days in our events calendar directly after music events • Increased availability for field based sports • More cost effective pitch operation • Increased retention of CW members due to quality of the surface • Stronger commercial opportunities due to repaired reputation • Positive press!!!!

  17. Champions League Final Success

  18. Can you ever get it right? Just when it seemed the Wembley pitch problems were a thing of the past then the hallowed semi-artificial turf seemed a bit of a mess. There were worn patches in both goalmouths and just outside each penalty area. There were also the darker stretches of grass across the remains of the pitch markings and adverts from the NFL and rugby league games which extended along each goal and down each flank. Despite all that, the Wembley surface seemed to play perfectly well andwithout complaints from the players Daily Mail 15 November 2011

  19. FINAL WORD PITCH PERFECT... AT LAST (Daily Mail June 6, 2011) • It is only a year since Wembley’s pitch made the £757m stadium a laughing stock.  • Too hard, too unsettled and generally just too bad was the general view as it cut up badly and left managers and players complaining loudly. • But after 11 re-laid pitches and finally the introduction of one with artificial fibres, at a combined estimated cost of £1.5m, the FA and stadium management have got it right.
