  3. Landforms • Yellowstone has lots of fun features for you to see • In 1872 the U.S. government set aside land for Yellowstone National Park • The thin crust causes most of the parks thermal features • The Yellowstone park has a grand canyon

Culture • Lots of people lived in and visited Yellowstone • The culture has changed A LOT over time • Yellowstone used to be a place to live, now it is a national park • John Colter is known as the first white man to see Yellowstone • American Indians have lived in Yellowstone for over 10,000 years • In the 1800’s explorers started traveling to Yellowstone

  5. Waterways • The three main waterways in Yellowstone are steam vents, hot springs, and geysers • Old Faithful is the most famous geyser of Yellowstone • Old Faithful has been around for more than one hundred years • Old Faithful shoots every 45 to 120 minutes

  6. Rocks & Minerals • Yellowstone has lots of rocks and minerals • The oldest rocks are Gneiss and Shiest • Yellowstone has shale rocks and limestone rocks • Some rocks in Yellowstone have a yellow color
