Croatian Qualification Framework National Qualifications System – NQSrefers to all the procedures and instruments leading to recognition of learning outcomes in a country European Qualifications Framework –EQF is an instrument that defines qualification reference levels, designed to serve as a device for recognition and readability of qualifications across national qualifications frameworks National Qualifications Framework – NQFis an instrument for establishing qualifications acquired in a certain country, laying the basis for transparency, access, award and quality of qualifications.

Croatian Qualification Framework European Qualifications Framework (EQF) • offers guidelines for the development of various qualification systems and qualification frameworks in Europe, with the goal of facilitating professional mobility and lifelong learning • Meta Framework • not a framework regulating specific qualifications or specific qualifications systems • allows for mutual readability and comparability of all levels of qualifications systems (implicitly introducing reference levels) or national qualifications frameworks (explicitly defining and describing reference levels) • eight levels of qualifications • officially came into force on 23 April 2008, but the required criteria and procedures are still being developed

Croatian Qualification Framework CROATIAN QUALIFICATIONS FRAMEWORK (CROQF) • instrument for establishing qualifications acquired in a Croatia, laying the basis for transparency, access, award and quality of qualifications • coordinates and links all parts of the Croatian Qualifications System, paying attention to the needs of individuals and society, including the needs and tasks of the economy • introduces a set of criteria, creating the basis for acceptable transparency, access, progression (in terms of developing competences), award and reliability of the entire qualifications system

Croatian Qualification Framework • recognition of different types of qualification and how they relate to each other • lifelong access to the education system • simplicity in recognising, evaluating and acknowledging foreign qualifications • recognising and acknowledging Croatian qualifications abroad • raising the quality of employability • building a system for evaluating and acknowledging competence acquired in the workplace and through other forms of learning (non-formal and informal education) • improving co-operation between the various stakeholders in education • creating a single system for managing the quality control of existing and new qualifications • creating comprehensible summaries of educational achievements for employers, those undergoing education and parents • promoting education in Croatian GOALS OF CROQF
