  2. A very productive year • Release of version 1.4 • Progress on 1.5 and a next generation of IFX that can leverage the infrastructure work being done elsewhere • Adoption, though quiet, is in evidence

  3. A very Productive Year • DISA is now providing technical support • We have new leadership in Architecture and soon will have a new chair… and life goes on, perhaps even improves. The Forum is strong

  4. IFX Forum Architecture Committee Update Annual Meeting April 23, 2003

  5. Architecture Committee • 1.4 Released • ATM / POS! (more on this later) • BBWG new messages and enhancements • New verbs – Advise, Rev • HexBin data type • Schema and DTD that agree and validate • Security messages

  6. Coming Year • Web Services • IFX 2.0 • IFX 1.5 • ATM/POS and BBWG enhancements

  8. ATM/POS WG - Milestones • Initial meeting March 2002 • Authored 14 proposals for IFX 1.4 • Wrote an IFX ATM/POS Datasheet • Two members are on the Board of Directors • Five members are on the Architecture committee

  9. ATM/POS WG - Work In Progress • Authoring an ATM/POS Implementation Guide (expected 2Q 2003) • Planning 1.5 proposals • Weekly conference calls • Active participation from 10+ companies

  10. ATM/POS WG - Future • IFX 1.4 already contains most traditional ATM transactions. • For future IFX versions we plan to author proposals for: • Pre-paid phone top-ups • Money order purchase • P2P payment • Additional check and issuing POS functionality • etc.
