  2. What causes motion? Do you ever think about how things move around you all the time? What causes motion? Who made the first discoveries of motion?
  3. Nicolas Copepernicus
  4. A polish Astronomer Nicolas Copepernicuswas one of the first persons recorded in history to have an interest on why things move a certain way. What was a shooting star and where did it go? Nicolas Copepernicus studied stars for over 30 years. He had taken measurements and came to realize that stars always move. Nicolas Copepernicus discovered “rotation” The rotation made it seemed as if the sun was moving across the sky. We don’t feel earths rotation because we travel with earth.

  6. Galileo Galilei In 1610 he discovered that starts orbited around the planets Invented the telescope. The telescope helped him more to understand about motion and the stars. He wrote a book on the stars

  8. Telescope Inventor Galileo Galilei was born in Pisa. He was a clever and observant. He liked to experiment and one day he discovered the law of pendulum. Galileo Galilei created the telescope. In 1610 he made the greatest discovery, he discovered that start orbited around Jupiter.

Gravity and it’s strength Gravity- The natural force of attraction exerted by a celestial body, such as Earth, upon objects at or near its surface, tending to draw them toward the center of the body. If the earth spins, how come we don’t fall off? Gravity is what keeps objects, and people , from flying off Earth.
  10. Second law of motion Second law: The acceleration of a body is directly proportional to, and in the same direction as, the net force acting on the body, and inversely proportional to its mass.
  11. Third law of motion Third law: When one body exerts a force on a second body, the second body simultaneously exerts a force equal in magnitude and opposite in direction to that of the first body.
