  2. When do you use the perfect tensewith être? • The perfect tense with être is also used to describe an action in the past which is no longer happening. • Eg: Je suis allé en France. I went to France.

What is the main difference between the perfect tense withavoirand the perfect tense withêtre? • The perfecttensewith être isused to describe a movement or a change of state: • Eg:I went to the supermarket. Je suis allé au supermarché. (movement) Mybrotherwasborn in 1996. Mon frère est né en 1996. (change of state)
