  2. TRIDERMA EXPLAINS THE SCIENCE BEHIND SUNSCREEN  With summer right around the corner, sunscreen is on the top of everyone’s shopping list. But looking at a sunscreen label can be overwhelming and downright confusing. What SPF do you pick? WhatareUVA and UVB rays?Whatisbroad spectrum?  Don’t worry- we’ve got you covered, we decoded 3 commonly used terms so that you can make safe sun decisions all year long andfind thesunscreenthatisright for you.

  3. TRIDERMA EXPLAINS THE SCIENCE BEHIND SUNSCREEN WHAT IS BROAD SPECTRUM?  Protecting skin from both UVA and UVB rays, a Broad Spectrum sunscreen is a major player in the fight against skin cancer. While UVA rays cause deep skin damage like wrinkling and aging, UVB rays cause the reddening sunburn effects on the outer layer of skin. Both types of rays are harmful in their own ways, but together they cause unwanted damage. By choosing a sunscreen with both UVA and UVB protection, you can help prevent multiple side effects of skin damageandskin cancerasawhole.

  4. WHAT SPF DO YOU PICK?  This Sun Protection Factor (SPF) of 30 is measured by the ability to block skin from UVB rays. If it takes your skin 20 minutes to redden, then an SPF 30 prevents this 30 times more (10 hours). The Skin Cancer Foundation suggests wearing an SPF of 15 or higher on a daily basis. While an SPF 30 yields 4% more coverage than an SPF 15, the key to maximizing any SPF value is to re- apply the sunscreen every 2 hours. Often, we only apply sunscreen once and think this will protect our skin all day long. This is a huge mistake because normal day activities can cause sunscreens to wear off after a just a few hours. By then, your skin could already have burned and deeper damage occurred. Whichever SPF value you choose to purchase, re-applying the product every 2 hours isthebestway tohelpprevent sunburn.

  5. WHAT DOES PA +++ MEAN?  Have you seen this description on other sunscreens but aren’t familiar with what is really means? You’re not alone. Commonly used across Japan and Korea, this method of rating sunscreen is based upon the ability to block harmful UVA rays. The higher the “+” symbols, the more protection your skin receives against deep skin damage. Our new Sunscreen was tested among consumers and received 3 “+” rating for protection against UVA rays. Rest assured, this extra benefit of our new Sunscreen helps protect your skinfrom deeperdamage.
