Introduction • Information and Communications Technology (ICT), Knowledge Management and Enterprise Data and Records Management (EDRMS) services cut across the organization to support programme activities to achieve the strategic objectives of ICAO. • ICT is ultimately responsible for driving the efforts to improve, harmonize and standardize IT services and systems across the Organization.

Objectives • Support and promote effective and efficient operations throughout ICAO • Strengthen the building blocks and pillars of modern ICT governance and structure within ICAO • Pursue opportunities for continuous improvement in ICT services, operations and management • Strategic/long term alignment of resources to serve units capable of delivering on organizational goals and priorities

Services and SupportInformation and Communications Technology • Successful completion of several ICT projects and initiatives spanning all Bureaus and Field Offices of ICAO as well as services to the Council and Member States • Notable projects include • Electronic Voting System for the election of the Council during the Assembly • Establishment of an electronic workflow for disseminating Council decisions • One-ICAO initiative covering ICT infrastructure, product development and service support • Paperless Environment initiative

Services and SupportKnowledge Management • Establishment of a Knowledge Management Unit to support business applications development and the development, conservation and management of Enterprise Knowledge Assets • Notable projects include: • Internal and external Learning Management Systems • E-Courses and online training • TrainAir Plus Electronic Management System • Aviation English Language Test Management System • Several collaboration and intelligent workflow systems • ICAO Medical Clinic Electronic Records System

Services and SupportElectronic Documents and Records Management • Implementation of an electronic solution for document and records management in ICAO Headquarters and all Regional Offices • Automation of business processes for collaboration, capture and transformation of content • Protection of the intellectual property and institutional memory of the Organization by ensuring that content is preserved throughout its lifecycle • Establishment of the infrastructure to support the execution of the information governance strategy

  7. Outlook for Next Triennium • Consolidation of the One-ICAO IT infrastructure and optimize services for the Organization in the following areas: • ICT Governance Framework • Information Security • Enterprise Resource Planning, Management Information Systems and Enterprise Reporting • Identity and Access Management • Enterprise Content Management • Documents and Records classification • Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery and Management
