Serious Violent Crime Rolling 12 Month Performance One-year Target:To achieve a reduction of at least 15% in Serious Violent Crime April to May 2009 Force: CIOS BCU: Plymouth BCU: Devon BCU: +86.5%(+90 Crimes) +171.4%(+36 Crimes) +84.8%(+15 Crimes) +86.5%(+39 Crimes) Increase attributable to: • A 142.2% increase in Wound or Cause GBH with Intent to do GBH S.18 (from 45 to 109). • A 43.1% increase in Inflicting GBH without Intent S.20 (from 51 to 73). 36 Forces recording a rise in serious violence - many of similar magnitude to the Force

Positive Outcomes OBTJ + Restorative Justice April 2009 - May 2009 One-year Target:To deliver a positive outcome in at least 33% of all offences with an expectation that of this 30% of all crimes will be brought to justice Sanction Detection Rate: 28.7% OBTJ Rate: 19.2% + Restorative Justice Rate: 0.5% = Positive Outcome Rate: 19.7% • The Sanction Detection Rate is being measured as a Lead Indicator for Offences Brought to Justice. • There is a backlog in updating CIS/NSPIS Case Prep with the outcomes which is having an affect on measuring OBTJ performance. • During April and May 2009, 90 Restorative Justice Disposals were issued.
