  4. Hyper-realism • Style of painting and drawing that is so precise it is an enhanced version of life • Difficult to see the artist’s “hand”

  5. Life Change • Morrison was diagnosed and treated for breast cancer in 2008 • A notable shift in her subject matter and palette (color choices) was evident as a result of this life changing experience. • Her work became a visual celebration of life based on her therapy – mainly sweet treats and comfort food

Aerial/Atmospheric Perspective • Scale: objects appear smaller as they get farther away • Placement: objects placed lower in the picture plane appear closer • Overlapping: objects in front are closer than objects behind • Detail: objects closer to the viewer have more detail • Color Saturation: close = color is brighter/more intense far away = color is dull/less intense
