I have previously registered for the site • When you visit www.manulife.ca/planmember after May 1, 2014, you will need to use: • your new plan number, • your plan member certificate number and • your password. • Your plan number and plan member certificate number are printed on your new benefits card. • These numbers identify you as a member of the uOttawa plan. • If you have forgotten your password, you will need to create a new one. • You can also check off “remember me” to save the plan numbers in your browser. • You can use the site to check on the status of your claims.

  4. I have not registered for the site • If you haven’t registered to use the Plan Member Secure Site, Manulife will send you information explaining how to access the site. You will need to use: • your new plan number, • your plan member certificate number, • your temporary password. • Shortly after May 1, 2014 all active plan members who have not yet registered will automatically receive an e-mail with instructions. • For anyone hired after May 1, invitations to register for the site will be part of benefits enrolment communications. • Your plan number and plan member certificate number are printed on your new benefits card. • These numbers identify you as a member of the uOttawa plan. • You will need to create a password. • You can also check off “remember me” to save the plan numbers in your browser. • You can use the site to check on the status of your claims.

  5. I have not registered for the site and I am a retiree • If you are a retiree and haven’t registered to use the Plan Member Secure Site as of May 1st, 2014, Manulife will send you a paper letter with all of the numbers and instructions to access your account. You will need to use: • your new plan number, • your plan member certificate number • your temporary password. • Your plan number and plan member certificate number are outlined in the letter. • These numbers identify you as a member of the uOttawa plan. • You will need to create a password. • You can also check off “remember me” to save the plan numbers in your browser. • You can use the site to check on the status of your claims. • Personal and dependant information updates must be done by uOttawa.

  6. Signing in to the Plan Member Secure Site

  7. Learning Centre Explore the learning centre to find out key plan dates. You can also view tutorials about the site. Quick Links on the right hand side of the screen give you access to frequently used site features. There is also a tutorial available for Online Claims Submission. Visit the Online Claims Submission page to view. Other tutorial topics include: search my claims, claims forms, administration forms, direct deposit and plan member brochures. Visit each page to view.

  9. Completing a family status change You can complete family status changes by choosing Enrol/re-enrol or Manage my plan from the Quick Links menu. Family status changes include: • Birth or adoption of a child • Change in marital status • Change in spouse’s coverage under another plan • Change in eligibility of dependants In this example, we will highlight some of the key actions to add a dependant child. You can see the dependants already listed in your records. Choose the “Add Child” button.

  15. Enrolling for Optional Coverage You can also purchase additional Optional Life coverage for you, your spouse, or your dependant children. Choose Enrol/re-enrol or Manage my planfrom the Quick Links menu. In this example, we will add 30 units of Optional Life coverage.

Purchasing Optional Coverage The site does all cost calculations for your payroll deductions and presents any additional declarations or forms that you must complete to finish adding the coverage. In this example, we will see a non-smoker declaration. Next, the site will ask us to review our options. An alert appears next to any items where additional form information must be completed. After reviewing all alerts, you will be ready to submit your choices. Print your coverage choices for your records.

  22. Purchasing Optional Coverage The site will show you the beneficiary information we have on record and any time sensitive forms we need you to print, complete and send in. You will also have the chance to print a statement reflecting your new coverage.

  27. Updating coordination of benefits information You can get back up to 100% of eligible expenses if you coordinate claims with your spouse’s plan. First, you can review the other coverage information we have on your record. Next, you can update this information on the site.
