  5. Announcements • You will need at least two 3 ½” floppy disks for lab • Attendance will be taken in each lab every week (except this one) • 2 absences from lab will result in a 10% reduction in the FINAL grade.

  6. Email Protocol • Please include your name, section#, and assignment# in the subject line when you submit your assignments: • Subject: Kevin Eng, Section 14, Assignment1 • If it is a question, place “Question” in the subject line: • Subject: Question

  7. Email Protocol Cont. • Files must be saved with your initials: • kgeword1 • Make sure your name is in each assignment and email, otherwise you may receive a ZERO for your assignment. DO NOT INCLUDE YOUR SSN!

  8. Books • You need to have your SAM books for skill tests, they are about $16 individually w/out the lab/lecture books. • YOU CANNOT SHARE SAM CARDS WITH ANOTHER STUDENT

  9. Next Week • We will be having an attendance quiz, in order for you to pass, you must successfully log into Pegasus. Failure to do so will result in a marked absence • We will be laying the foundation in order to create your class web page. • You must use your Pegasus account to submit your first assignment (due in 2 weeks)

  10. Homework • Try to access your LAN account and Pegasus email account. Please bring your NID or Pegasus username (they are the same thing) to lab with you next week. • Default password is P and your Birth Year, Birth Month, and Birth Day (yymmdd)Ex: 01/18/84 your password will be P840118 • If you don’t know your NID go to the https://connect.ucf.edu for a NID lookup

  11. Homework Cont. • Click “Start” and select “Run” • In the Run command box, type telnet pegasus.cc.ucf.edu • Type your login and enter your default password.

  12. Pegasus Login Login: Type your NID here Password: PYYMMDD (or your old one) Choose a new password. Enter login password: PYYMMDD (or your old one) New password: Enter new password Confirm new password: Enter again
