Tanning for Math!. By Caroline Purtle Math 6 9-29-10. My Problem:. Snooki has a tanning salon named Tan Band. The bills to keep it open cost $1,000 a month. If each tan cost $50 per person and she has $150 more to pay her employees with, how will she make at the end of the month??.

  2. My Problem: • Snooki has a tanning salon named Tan Band. The bills to keep it open cost $1,000 a month. If each tan cost $50 per person and she has $150 more to pay her employees with, how will she make at the end of the month??

  3. 1,000-(50x-150)= Y Equation

  4. Variables • Independent- The number of tans. • Dependent- The cost of the bill. The cost of the bill depends on the number of tans.

  5. Yes because It passes the vertical line test! Is this a function?

  6. Definition Domain: Range: The y-value • The set of all possible input values of relation or function Is the domain continuous or discrete? Continuous because there is no stopping point it can go on forever.

  7. Equation: 1,000-(50x-150) Function notation: f(x)=1,000-(50x-150)
