  3. AYP NewsAug 8th TEA newsbrief • 44% of Texas campuses (3,773) met AYP this year. **Three campuses met AYP, high school didn’t. • 28%of Texas School Districts (339) met AYP.-***Our district MET AYP this year*** • Requirements to Meet AYP for 2011-2012: (last year) • (Grades 3-8 and 10th) • *Math- Required 83% Passing Rate • *Reading/ELA Required 87% Passing Rate • *Participation in State Testing Program-95% • *EITHER 75% Graduation Rate or 90% Attendance Rate (depended on grade levels of campus) • GREAT NEWS is that Woden ISD MET AYP for the District and that we are not under any School Improvement Plan for AYP! • AYP Requirements are INCREASING for 2012-2013! This Year! • Math-Required Passing Rate is 92% • Reading/ELA Required Passing Rate is 93% • 2013-2014 passing rate is 100% both tests!!!!

  4. AYP is Tied to our Rating/Funding • We are a Title I school • Since we missed AYP, we MUST spend some of our Title I funds assisting high school math • Tied to our campus and district improvement plans (this goes into our needs assessments, strategies, and goals)

  5. What does it mean if a school is Title I schoolwide? • If your district has over 50% of its students on free or reduced lunch--this is very CONFIDENTIAL! • You get federal funds for your district. • We use these funds to help pay for teachers to keep our pre-k classes. • We get @ 130,000 per year in Title I. • We get @ 40,000 per year in Title II that we use to pay our service center contracts. Reg 7 & 6. Our reading/math programs-SRAs, corrective reading, accelerated reader, accelerated math& other professional development.

  6. What are we doing to prepare to meet AYP? • Using additional programs for math grades 3-8 • SFA Math intern at high school • Looking at our data to see what areas the kids need additional assistance in based on state results • Vertical alignment of curriculum and vocabulary • Professional development targeted to the needs of the classroom • Involving parents more at grade level

  7. Professional Development We conducted a survey based on our professional development offerings during inservice to see what was still needed and ways we can improve for next year.
