  2. Illinois HB 1079 Act is cited as the “Dual Credit Quality Act” Section 10. Purpose of this act is to accomplish the following: 1. To reduce college costs. 2. To speed time to degree completion. 3. To improve the curriculum for high school students and the alignment of the curriculum with college and workplace expectations. 4. To facilitate the transition between high school and college. 5. To enhance communication between high schools and colleges. 6. To offer opportunities for improving degree attainment for underserved student populations.
  3. ICCB (Illinois Community College Board) Course Requirements shall satisfy the following: State Laws and Regulations Instructors Qualification of Students Placement Testing and Prerequisites Course Offerings Concurrent Credit
  4. Kewanee High School2012 School Report Card Data 74.2% White, 15.8% Hispanic, 8.8% Black, 1.2% Other 59.8% Low-income 2012 KHS enrollment – 520 2012 Dual-enrollment - 150
  5. KHS/Black Hawk College Kewanee High School has partnered with Black Hawk College to offer dual credit and articulated credit for current KHS students. Dual credit classes are held at Kewanee High School and students are given high school credit, plus college credit upon completion of the course. College credits appear on their college transcript from Black Hawk College. These credits can be used for Black Hawk College programs or transfer to other colleges or universities.
