  3. NWWS Legacy End-user System Configuration

  4. New NWWS Components • NWWS-Sat: Satellite broadcast via AWIPSSBN to end users. • End User Client (EUC): EUC software to reside on satellite users’ systems. Functions are: message collection, message archiving, message visualization, and product filtering. • Open Interface (OI): Data “push” via internet. Low-cost option for users without stringent delivery requirements . Being developed using existing NWS-Chat capability, and integrated within NWS Information Dissemination System (NIDS). • National Law Enforcement Telecommunications Systems (NLETS): New software to handle message collection, message transformation based on user profile configurations, and dissemination to NLETS center to support 34 state entities, who redistribute to other state/local emergency managers • End User Satellite Terminal (EUST): Contract with DRS Technical Services, Inc.

NWWS Satellite and End User Client (EUC) Progress and Status • Completed System Integration Test (SIT) • Completed System Acceptance Test (SAT) • Posted Service Change Notice (SCN) on http://www.nws.noaa.gov/om/notif.htm • First meeting of Configuration Control Board (CCB) on 9/10/13 • Completed the Operational Support Implementation Plan (for Tier 1, 2,and 3 support during OT&E) • Completed End User Client software version .005 • NWS approved the Operational Test and Evaluation (OT&E) Test Plan • Completed OT&E Phase 1 Test Readiness Review (TRR) on 9/12/13 • Started OT&E Phase 1 on 9/13/13. OT&E Phase 1 will continue through 12/18/13
