Individual Complaints received by the Office • In 2009 107 Complaints were received by the Office • In 2010 ( Between January and August) 108 complaints were received – 39 of which were made by children • Complaints received were in relation to Family, Education, School Transport,Sports and Culture, Recreational Facilities, Courts and Abuse.

Expressed Opinions, Statements and Policy Recommendations • Offenders Register • National Child Policy • Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion • Standards for Public Playgrounds • Safe Use of Technology • Child Labour Legislation • Adverts Involving Children • Access to Justice • Ratification of UN CRC Optional Protocol and CoE Convention on the protection of minors.

Research on Looked After Children • The Effect of Institutional Placement for Children under 5 (Based on international research) • Mental Health needs of children in care (Using the Child Behaviour Checklist, Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire, and Case File Studies) • Exploring the long term outcomes of youth leaving care (through case files, interviews, and other data)
