  4. Linnaeus’ Taxonomic Groups Binomial Nomenclature: Organisms are named by their genus then species name

  5. Kingdoms • Protista – mostly single celled organisms called with a nucleus • Fungi – heterotrophic saprophites (decomposers). Secrete digestive enzymes into food source and absorb nutrients • Plantae – plants (moss, grass, flowers, shrubs coniferous and deciduous trees) • Animalia – animals (mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, insects and other animals without backbones)
